This large-scale Georgian sterling silver hot water urn was crafted by the acclaimed English silversmiths William and Peter Bateman. Ornamented with lion head handles, a calf's head finial, a gadrooned central body and fine engraving, the urn remains in remarkable condition, retaining its original sterling liner and lid. The Bateman family of silversmiths is most noted for producing works of superior and enduring quality. This large urn, in complete condition, by the two Bateman brothers, represents a rare and important find. Hallmarked London, 1807 11 1/2" wide x 12" deep x 17 1/2" high
