To put it on you need to slide it onto the handle sideways (like I've shown in the picture) and then turn the holder into position and it will snap into place. You may need to adjust the size of the hole to get the correct fit for different brands of chapstick and material. I've uploaded a model that works with Carmex and Chapstick brands..
