The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has started treating for spongy moth infestations, (formerly known as gypsy moths), in several areas across North Carolina, including Dare and Currituck counties. The treatments were originally scheduled to begin last week, but windy conditions led to a delay.
